OUR BUSINESS PHILOSOPHY

While the businesses are flourishing but the availability of raw materials is decreasing. While the global population is alarmingly increasing the available ecosystem questions the survival of the human race. While the consumption of natural resources (energy, water, food, and oxygen) is on the rise, sustaining supply stands inadequate. The world’s agricultural system is experiencing a great balancing act. The world population is growing by nearly 3 more people, about 240,000 people a day. The world is projected to hold a whopping 9.6 billion people by 2050. These 9 billion people will need 70% more food and aggressive productivity output to feed the growing and hungrier world.

Responding to the drastic demand for crops and livestock is an enormous task for the farmers, food producers, agriculturalists, and the associated industries to plan ahead in introducing innovative techniques, and efficient practices and scaling up the output with minimum input. Pakistan is among the lowest crop yield producer in the world. Future crop yield overall will need to grow 32% faster than historical rates.

Coupled with environmental impact, growing water scarcity, climate change, carbon emissions, abnormal rainfall patterns are more significant and growing risks hampering the need to faster production with reduced inputs. Pakistan’s crop based pesticides account for a market share of 97% out of which Ali Akbar accounts for more than 75% of the market share, raising more responsibility to collaborate in contributing towards addressing key global challenges/shortages. Pakistan’s agricultural productivity ranges between 29% and 52%, significantly lower than the world’s best averages for major commodities.

The absence of efficient new seed varieties intermitted water supply, and conventional framing practices are some of the underline risk factors. At Ali Akbar, we recognize our responsibility to proactively function in liaison with the global agricultural goals, partnering ourselves with the global challenge, and incorporating smart business practices to mitigate and sustain the agricultural risks facing Pakistan and outside.

In response to the decaying quality of life, the Ali Akbar group’s philosophy interfaces with improving the quality of human life. As a result, Ali Akbar has already steered up to pace with the rapidly changing agricultural landscape by adopting the following key approaches:

- Adoption of new technologies and use of sustainable and integrated pest management techniques in farming practices.
- Embrace smarter farming methods.
- Building more sustainable agricultural ecosystems.
- Sustainable crop product intensification.

Evidently, inventing/introducing our own seeds – yield enhancement genes, prescribing the best solutions to farmers for maximum productivity, reducing environmental impacts through irrigation drip lines, and introducing alternate renewable energy solutions are some of the strategic steps undertaken towards fulfilling our corporate philosophy.
